At first I never photographed flowers. I thought it was "sissy" to have
them in my collection. However, it only took a few "experimental" shots
to realize that floral photography is actually now one of my favorite subjects.
The vivid colors and the amount of detail that explodes in front of your
eyes is simply a "rush" when you nail that perfect shot. |

Some have called me a "postcard photographer". I guess if you love to travel
to famous places and landmarks and try to get the best photo possible,
(considering time of day and weather), that would be me. Sometimes I get
so wrapped up in shooting a shot, that I will stand there, camera focused
and wait. Wait for all those passerby's to get out of my way or behind
a tree where they won't show up in the print. |

Sometimes I get the chance to act like an artist and find that special
chance to capture an item or place that's just a bit different or unique.
It's not a scenery or a portrait, nor is it a flower or animal. In fact
it's probably just fun or exciting with no special meaning to anyone but
me. But it'll probably be colorful and probably be stimulating, but of
course it may just be a moment in time, that will be forever be frozen
in my memory. |

I really don't like photographing people. (most of the time) They're
too self-conscious. They either give a real muggy look or the "saddest
excuse" for a smile that you can imagine. I like the results of the non
posed photos, even if they are not smiling. I like the emotions that people
experience and catching those emotions are what make excellent "portrait"
photos. |

Wildlife

Wildlife and Animals are almost just as exciting as Floral and Flowers
when it comes to color and details. However, there are a few differences.
Animals move more than flowers, so catching them in the perfect pose is
sometimes a bit more challenging; but more rewarding. The other reason
for shooting animals, if the animal is in a cute pose, all the girls just
coo and awe and make a big fuss over it. |

This will probably be my smallest category. When I'm shooting the photographs,
I don't normally even think about taking it in black and white because
I'm seeing the image in living color. However, once in a while I'll be
reviewing my photos and see a photo that seems to set a somber or mysterious
mood. Then I'll gray scale it and sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised how
well they look. |

During the winter, I just can't get quite as motivated to shoot
pictures as much as in the other seasons. Probably due to the fact that
there isn't the blue skies, green grasses, crystal clear waters or the
rainbows of flowers growing around every corner. So, lets watch the "bird
feeders" for activity and color. I've never done anything like this before
and it should bring a few nice bird photos and probably a few surprises.

posed, most are not focused correctly and most won't have any meaning to

There will be a lot of stories around taking photos. Stories of adventures
traveled, the people who I've met and maybe a few about lost equipment
or dead batteries. Maybe later on I'll compare camera's or make a parody
