| The
Great Salt Lake - Utah
An evening sunset at the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Even though this is a
very beautiful setting, just watching the sailboats floating along, just
be glad this is NOT a "scratch and sniff" photo gallery. Due to the low
water level at this particular time of year (July and August) the
smell while walking along the beach was just horrid.
It should be noted that the "lake stink" that we smelled at the Salt Lake
is not a result of the water or the mud under the lake as many people think.
It is actually caused by the decaying algae washed up on shore. When you
are out on the water, you don't smell any thing but the same smell as the
ocean.
