Sunset - Sacramento Mountains, Sunspot Hwy., New Mexico
I was on my way up through the Sacramento Mountains in Southern New Mexico,
to go camping for the weekend. As I came around a corner on the winding
Sunspot Highway, I was lucky enough to see this spectacular sunset at over
9,000 feet above sea level. Now, everyone knows that New Mexico has spectacular
sunsets, but this one just seemed to be the finest I'd seen in a long time.
Not only did it have the spectacular colors, but was also framed with the
darkening of the pine tree shadows. Seeing this sunset and getting the
chance to photograph it, was the perfect way to start a weekend camping
under the stars.
