White Sands
and Blue Skies
At just a little after 8:00 in the morning, this balloon lifted off into
the beautiful blue skies over the White Sands National Monument in Southern
New Mexico. An annual event, the White Sands Balloon
Invitational is a photographers dream come true. With over 300 square miles
of pure white sand, mostly blue skies and wonderfully colored balloons
scattered across the lofty dunes, it's really pretty hard to get a bad
